Rayon Sports continues its efforts to strengthen the squad in January, entering negotiations with striker Lola Kanda Moïse, who currently plays for Gicumbi FC.
The Congolese forward is one of the standout performers in the Rwanda Premier League, having scored six goals so far this season.
Impressive recent performance
On Friday, December 26, 2025, Lola Kanda scored a hat-trick in a single match as Gicumbi FC defeated Rutsiro FC 4–2 in Rubavu. This marked him as the third player this season to score three goals in a single game in the 2025/26 league.
According to sources from IGIHE, Lola Kanda is currently in talks with Rayon Sports for a possible transfer in January, when the Rwandan transfer window opens for four weeks.
Rayon Sports’ transfer needs
Rayon Sports recently announced plans to recruit five new players, including three forwards. Among the targeted players was Jules Armand Kooh from Cameroon. However, logistical challenges reportedly prevented that move from materializing.
The club, known for its blue and white colors, sees Lola Kanda Moïse as a potential asset who could improve the team’s offensive performance. Rayon Sports currently sits in seventh place with 21 points from 13 matches, highlighting the need for reinforcements up front.
Gicumbi FC ready to negotiate
Gicumbi FC is reportedly open to selling the striker, as he has entered the last six months of his contract, which he signed for one year in August.
Lola Kanda has previously played for Cara FC in Congo Brazzaville, JS Group Bazano and Bukavu Dawa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as Zesco United and Green Eagles in Zambia.
