The City of Kigali has announced that fireworks will be displayed at eight different locations across the city to mark the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026.
The announcement was made on the evening of December 30, 2025, outlining both public and private venues where the celebrations will take place.
Public Fireworks Locations
According to the City of Kigali, fireworks open to the general public will be displayed at the following locations:
- City Hall
- Kigali Pelé Stadium
- Canal Olympia
- Kigali Heights
Private Fireworks Locations
Fireworks will also be displayed at several privately organized venues, including:
- Hôtel des Mille Collines
- Atelier du Vin
- Serena Hotels
- KCC Parkings
Time and Duration
The fireworks will be launched at midnight, on the night of December 31, 2025, as the country welcomes January 1, 2026. The display is expected to last between 10 and 19 minutes.
In its statement, the City of Kigali reassured the public that the event is well planned and safe, and is intended to allow residents and visitors to celebrate responsibly as the year comes to a close.
Public Safety Message
The city authorities also reminded the public to drink responsibly during the festivities and emphasized that alcohol should not be served to anyone under the age of 18.
