French coach Bruno Ferry, aged 58, has officially arrived in Rwanda to begin his new role as head coach of Rayon Sports, one of the country’s most supported football clubs. His arrival marks the end of a period of anticipation among fans following the departure of former coach Afahamia Lotfi.
Bruno Ferry landed in Kigali on Friday morning, where he was welcomed by club officials, including Eric Irambona, the Director of Football Operations at Rayon Sports. The experienced tactician is expected to bring stability and renewed ambition as the club targets improved results in the remainder of the season.
Speaking shortly after his arrival, Ferry expressed his excitement and determination to succeed with the club. “I am very happy to be here. For now, I won’t say much, but my goal is to make history with this team,” he said.
The French coach was officially unveiled as Rayon Sports head coach on December 17, 2025. He will work alongside Lomami Marcel as first assistant coach and Haruna Ferouz as second assistant coach, forming a technical team tasked with revitalizing the squad.
Bruno Ferry is expected to take charge immediately, with plans to attend Rayon Sports’ upcoming Rwanda Premier League fixture against Gorilla FC, scheduled for Friday at 6:30 PM at Kigali Pelé Stadium.
He takes over a Rayon Sports side currently sitting seventh on the league table with 17 points after 11 matches. Supporters will be hoping his arrival signals a turning point as the team pushes for a stronger second half of the season.
