“Rome was not built in one day” — Rayon Sports coach reacts after Etincelles FC draw

Rayon Sports head coach Bruno Ferry has said he needs time to deliver the results expected by the club’s fans, following a 1–1 draw against Etincelles FC in his first match in charge of the Blue and White side.

The newly appointed coach made the remarks after the match, which marked his debut on the touchline since taking over the technical responsibilities at Rayon Sports.

Coach Ferry points out areas that need improvement

Speaking after the game, Ferry explained that the match helped him identify several issues that require urgent attention, especially regarding the players’ behavior, mindset, and discipline on the pitch.

“I was not satisfied with the behavior I saw, both when we had the ball and when we didn’t. There are things that should not continue like this. I spoke to the players about it, and it is my responsibility to correct those issues,” Ferry said.

Calls for professionalism and patience

The coach emphasized the importance of professionalism and patience, reminding supporters that progress does not happen overnight.

“There are things we must fix to become more professional. Rome was not built in one day. We have to correct mistakes step by step and put everything in its rightful place. Starting Monday, we will begin working very hard,” he added.

Six-month contract and league position

Despite the challenges, Bruno Ferry recently signed a six-month contract with Rayon Sports, which will run until the end of the current season.

The draw against Etincelles FC left Rayon Sports in seventh place on the league table with 21 points, eight points behind league leaders Police FC.

In their Matchday 14 fixture of the Rwanda Premier League, Rayon Sports will host AS Muhanga on Sunday, January 4, 2026, a match that will be crucial as the club looks to climb the standings.
