Rayon Sports have started the year 2026 by strengthening their squad with the signing of two new players, as the club continues preparations for the second half of the season.
The Rwandan giants confirmed the arrivals of Yannick Bangala Litombo and goalkeeper Kwizera Olivier on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Yannick Bangala Joins the Midfield
Rayon Sports officially unveiled Yannick Bangala Litombo, a 31-year-old midfielder from the Democratic Republic of Congo, who is expected to add experience and stability to the team’s midfield during the return leg of the season.
Bangala was welcomed by Rayon Sports President Abdallah Murenzi and brings with him vast experience from top African clubs. He has previously played for AS Vita Club, Young Africans SC (Yanga SC), and Azam FC, making him one of the most experienced signings of the window.
Kwizera Olivier Returns to Rayon Sports
In addition to Bangala, Rayon Sports also completed the signing of goalkeeper Kwizera Olivier, who makes a return to the club after previously playing for Rayon Sports in 2022.
Kwizera joins from Al-Kawkab of Saudi Arabia, having earlier played for Gasogi United FC. His career also includes spells with Mthatha Bucks and Free State Stars in South Africa, as well as APR FC and Bugesera FC in the Rwandan league.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper has signed a six-month contract and was recently called up by Rwanda national team head coach Adel Amrouche for a training camp involving locally-based players.
Super Cup and League Preparations
Both new signings are eligible to feature in the Rwanda Super Cup clash against APR FC, scheduled for January 10, 2026, at Amahoro Stadium.
Rayon Sports currently sit seventh in the Rwanda Premier League standings with 21 points and are preparing for their Matchday 14 fixture against AS Muhanga.
The club hopes the new additions will help improve their position as the season progresses.
